An Intimate Lake Pukaki Wedding

If you envision an intimate wedding set in a remote and picturesque location, surrounded by your closest loved ones and breathtaking views, then you've found the perfect match! Jack and Emily chose the idyllic Braemar Station for their wedding, drawing inspiration from the stunning landscape. Their ceremony backdrop featured Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook, with some of the greenery collected right from the station grounds. Emily, a creative genius, handled all the decorations, from crafting macrame to styling both the ceremony and reception areas. Friends and family lent a hand in creating decorations, and Jack even designed the light stands for their festoon lights. In their own words, they described their wedding as a 'community project.'

Emily shared her thoughts on the day, saying, 'From the beginning, we knew we wanted to spend the entire day together, including getting ready simultaneously. With no wedding party, as our guest list was small (only 23 people), everyone felt like an integral part of our day. Jack helping me into my dress was a particularly special moment for us. We continued this theme throughout the day, even walking down the aisle together to begin our journey as husband and wife. And, of course, our beloved dog, Mowgli, had to be part of the celebration. We selected a venue where he could join us for the entire weekend. He might have eaten more than we did that weekend! For the remainder of the day, we simply wanted to bask in the sun and savor the magnificent views that the South Island had to offer!"
