If you envision a small and intimate wedding set in a remote, breathtaking location, surrounded by your closest loved ones and stunning natural vistas, then this story is perfect for you! Jack and Emily found their ideal wedding spot at Braemar Station, where the picturesque landscape played a significant role in shaping their wedding style. They exchanged vows with Lake Pukaki and Mt. Cook as their stunning backdrop, and some of the greenery they used for decorations was gathered from the station itself. Emily, who is creatively gifted, took charge of all the decor details, from crafting macrame to styling the ceremony and reception spaces. Their friends and family also chipped in, and Jack even created the light stands for their festoon lights, turning their wedding into a true community effort.
Emily shared her thoughts on their special day: "From the beginning, we knew we wanted to spend the entire day together, including getting ready simultaneously. Since we opted not to have a traditional wedding party due to our small guest list of only 23 people, we felt that everyone was already an integral part of our day. Jack helping me into my dress was a particularly special moment for us. This trend continued throughout the day, including us walking down the aisle together to begin our journey as husband and wife. And of course, we couldn't imagine our day without our beloved dog, Mowgli, who joined us for the entire weekend. I think he ate more than we did that weekend! For the remainder of the day, we simply wanted to bask in the sun and savor the breathtaking views that the South Island had to offer."
